r the youngsters (6 – 12 years)! This is about fun through physical activity and skills developed include running technique, coordination, general strength and endurance. A key focus of our coaching of younger athletes is creating people who are keen to be fit and active throughout their life.  Their journey begins here.

Whippets runs through the school term and typically starts in Week 2 and concludes in the last week of term (lasting 8-9 weeks). Communication and session photos are distributed through this private Facebook link here.

The venues for Whippets are:
Pizzey Park, Miami (meet at the Soccer field carpark)

• Mondays from 4:00-5:00pm and held every week during the school term
• Coach - Jaz Long, Josh Narain and Sayla Donnelley

 
James Overell Park, Southport (meet next to the Rugby clubhouse) 

• Mondays from 4:00-5:00pm and held every week during the school term
• ​Coach - Amber Donnelley, Stef Hussey and Harry Bouwmeester

We are very keen to begin a Pratten Park Whippets group in future (across from Broadbeach State School), Broadbeach. Please let us know if this location would interest you.

2023 Prices 

• Early bird (paid prior to starting the term) - $126 per term (one session per week for 9 weeks) ​
• Late (paid after the start of the term) - $153 per term (one session per week for 9 weeks) 
• Casual attendance - $22 per session
• Please note the following:
  • The term price factors in up to 2 missed sessions due to wet weather (we will only cancel sessions if it is not safe to conduct them). If wet weather leads to more than two sessions being cancelled in one term, we will offer make up sessions. 
  • If you would like your child to join after the beginning of the Term, please get in contact to determine if there is space in the group.

Whippets Squad - Training fees

A$22.00 - A$126.00

In 2023, the Southport and Miami Whippets will begin Term 2 on Monday 24th April (Week 2 of Term 2) with the season being 9 weeks.

** Note that there won't be a session on Monday 1st May (public holiday) but we will hold a session on Monday 26th June which is during the school holidays - this is leading into the Gold Coast Marathon where we will be encouraging all the Whippets to take part in the kids events.
